This is an old-fashioned ‘porridge’-style oatmeal, with a great creamy texture. It’s wonderful to wake up to on chilly mornings!
*Note: Steel cut oats are less refined, and a more nutrient-dense, higher fiber/whole grain cousin to regular whole oats.
Ingredients
½ cup steel cut oats
1 cup of your favorite dry fruit (cranberries, raisins, apples, etc..)
2 ¼ cups water
½ cup your choice of milk (dairy or other)
1/8 tsp salt
¼ tsp cinnamon
Directions
In slow cooker, combine all ingredients, stir, and set to low heat. Cover and let cook for about 8 hours. Stir well before serving.
