The amount of information out there can sometimes be overwhelming, there are literally thousands of blogs and websites and Instagram accounts labeled for health and fitness. It can be hard to know which ones are good and/or which ones are just more of the same!
We LOVE that you all engage with our ARA Wellness Blog, but I just wanted to recognize a few more blogs and also a few Instagram accounts that I have discovered that also have great information to offer so you can learn even MORE! I find lots of inspiration from these sources.
Note: I tend to be drawn to the female-oriented blogs and accounts a little more, as it seems that many other health & fitness blogs are really intense and over my head a lot of the time.
With that being said, here are a few I've grown to love...
Instagram Accounts
She is a trainer for a lot of country artists (like Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Jana Kramer, Carrie Underwoods, Kacey Musgraves, etc), but her account shares a lot of quick, easy home workouts and motivation for eating healthy and staying active. Her posts are very real and relatable, and fun!
Courtnee is a girl who has lost over 100 pounds on her fitness journey. Her account talks a lot about her journey- which has a very big mental health component. She is big on weight lifting and used to compete in body-building competitions, but even if those aren’t your “thing” her account is still great for inspiration, guidance, and just a REAL person to follow. She advocates for girls of ALL body types and inspires you to be comfortable in your own skin. She can also be a total dork and it cracks me up!
What I love about this account is it shares a ton of healthy recipes and most of the posts have the full recipe in the caption so that you don’t need to click on external links and read through pages of text… it’s just a picture and a simple recipe all in one place in my Instagram feed! I know there are a ton of food accounts, but like I said... I like being able to just screenshot the recipe on my phone while I'm scrolling through Instagram and not have to click a million places to get to it ;)
Blogs
Flex it Pink
I love this blog. While mostly geared towards women, the FiP community is incredible. I found this community through the “virtual races” they have, which is how I’ve been running my 5K’s (this is still new to me, so more on virtual races in the future). FiP is so empowering to women, of all shapes/sizes/walks of life… they accomplish this through fun quotes, workouts that anyone can do, recipes, and really just an all-over upbeat vibe about being your best self! Oh, and they have AWESOME apparel. I follow them on Facebook and Instagram as well!

MyFitnessPal
A lot of people know of MyFitness Pal as an app to track calories. But have you checked out their blog? Their blog contains so many great articles and so much great information for all levels of healthy living. This blog gives a heavy focus to weight loss, but also includes great information for everyone on nutrition and fitness. This is one of the few bigger blog communities that I really enjoy! They have information applicable to all styles and levels of “health.”

Fit Bottom Girls
This is a fun one! “The focus is always on the idea that fit bottoms come in all shapes and sizes — and that you’re more than the number on the scale.” This is a great resource for no-diet tips on healthy living, fitness and workout info, and to get inspiration from the success stories of fellow community members. More than anything, it’s a fun and friendly platform with a lot of great resources!

Blog Summary
While I fully understand that Pinterest seems like the king of finding a lot of this information when you are looking for it, I like getting updates to to e-mail inbox from just a few places as to not totally overwhelm myself with information. I simply skim over the e-mail, if nothing catches my eye... I delete it. However, between these three there is ALWAYS something that catches my eye at least 2-3 times a week :)
